Watch Dasha tell her story. She was 12 weeks pregnant when the war started, she spent 4 weeks in a basement, hiding. The last hospital that was left was bombed. All 13 newborns in that hospital were killed.
She left Mariupol under a shower of shelling. At the border with Russia, she was scared that they would take her into a bus to the unknown. She begged them to let her go. They let her finish her trip on foot and she got a plane to Poland.
She’s now safe, in the UK and has given birth to her baby. UKUATogether helped her find hosts, apply for her visa and get all the necessities for her and her baby.
