Helping Ukrainian refugees to settle, live and thrive in the UK
What we do
UKUTogether are committed and active in settling the most vulnerable refugees in the UK and ensuring they are thriving with almost zero cost to society. We support initiatives including cultural, educational and rebuilding lives following life changing events.
We are proud to have received registration from the Charity Commission. Our Registered Charity Number is: 1202086.
UKUATogether use their resources to:
Run a site in two languages that allows refugees and hosts to register
Carry out due diligence on both UK hosts and Ukrainian refugees before putting them forward for matches
Match potential UK hosts to Ukrainian refugees
Prepare, submit and escalate visa applications
Offer advice and information to those who register on the site
Pay for travel to the UK
Distribute donations (welcome packs/hygiene/children books etc)
Provide micro financing scheme to help get refugees on their feet
Provide support with employment for Ukrainian refugees
Provide support with access to mental health professionals
Provide financial support with furniture and other domestic needs as refugees move out
Provide post arrival support to both UK hosts and Ukrainian refugee family to settle in the UK
Establish local ‘community hubs’ for hosts and refugees
The process
We ensure the ‘right’ host is found for the ‘right’ family
We complete the visa process and support travel arrangements to the UK
We provide coaching, tips and support to sponsor families on settling their guests
We follow up with advice and checklists on how to best get refugee families ‘on their feet’
-
You’ll need to provide a bedroom and a place to live for a minimum of 6 months.
-
Your Ukrainian family will need to have full access to come and go as they please, privacy and access to facilities such as kitchen space and bathrooms.
-
You’ll welcome refugees into your homes and families.
-
You’ll support refugees in making the UK their home, we recommend ensuring there is support locally to help make this happen.
The UKUATogether team took away the burden of the visa application process, which takes hours, and supported us with our adhoc questions and queries pre-and post our guest’s arrival. We are incredibly grateful for the team’s support and are humbled to be able to make a positive difference.
The community that UKUATogether have created is incredible for the Ukrainians that have come here but also for the hosts, it feels that nothing is too daunting and there is always someone to help answer any questions.
UKUATogether have helped the Ukrainian family we have hosted with micro financing (loan and grant). This has allowed them to buy a car and be able to be mobile and find employment in the countryside.
Our amazing partners
Thank you to all of the companies who have given their support and time
